Sara Hebel, co-founder and editor-in-chief of Open Campus, will moderate a conversation on higher ed at the Texas Tribune Festival in Austin.
The Sept. 6 panel will answer the question: How can higher ed in Texas get its mojo back? Texas colleges and universities serve more than 2 million college students and are key drivers of workforce training and economic mobility. But higher education in Texas and across the country is struggling with existential questions about the value of a degree, growing distrust in institutions, and declining enrollment.
The panelists joining Sara are Amy Bosley, president of Northwest Vista College; Harrison Keller, incoming president of the University of North Texas; and Tedd Mitchell, chancellor of the Texas Tech University system.
The Texas Tribune Festival will feature more than 100 conversations on important topics of the day, including education, the economy, and the 2024 elections. This is the first time that Open Campus has been featured at TribFest. The panel is sponsored by the Trellis Foundation.
